The story of Titanic was brought back to life in 1997 by film director James Cameron. It stars Leonardo DiCaprio as Jack Dawson, a penniless third class passenger who wins his ticket aboard Titanic with a lucky hand of poker, and Kate Winslet as Rose DeWitt Bukater, a first class passenger. Jack and Rose meet as Rose threatens to throw herself off the Titanic, after her grim realisation of her life to come.

Leo did a wonderful job with the role of Jack. He showed the free spirit that the third class passengers had then compared to the spirit of the first class passengers. Jack was a person you could absolutly fall in love with, which made the whole story so real. In the end you don't want him to die.

Kate Winslet also did a great job at bringing Rose to life. In Titanic, Rose's controlling mother was forcing her into a marrige with Cal Hockley(Billy Zane). Cal was also very controlling and treated Rose like a possesion instead of a wife. Rose felt like she was standing on a great precipice, with no one to pull her back, no one who cared or even noticed, which is what drew her to Jack, who didnt have a care in the world.
